Why we advocate
Australian Smokefree Alternatives Consumer Association “ASACA” are a group of individuals who have lived experience on the benefits of switching to reduced risk nicotine products, we are consumer advocates who believe, nothing about us without us!
As Professor Michael Russel stated, “People smoke for the nicotine, but they die from the tar” we advocate for individuals to be able to make their own informed choice, to be assured that they are receiving accurate and relevant information, and have all available options open to them when they are ready to quit smoking.
Nothing about us, without us
The Australian Smokefree Alternatives Consumer Association is a not for profit organisation dedicated to making it as easy as possible for Australian smokers to switch to a range of safer nicotine alternatives which are effective, attractive, affordable and to ensure availability for former smokers.
To ensure Australian Smokefree Alternatives Consumer Association is focused on improving public health by bringing awareness, along with fact based empirical science, to risk-reduced nicotine products such as electronic cigarettes, Swedish snus and heat not burn.
We wish to see the general public, government regulators and medical and health organisations embrace and endorse the potential and efficacy of safer nicotine products for the purpose of reducing cigarette and combustible tobacco consumption (or smoking).
Our goals include, but not limited to conversing within the all stakeholders to ensure the widespread availability of less-harmful nicotine delivery systems, eliminate the current draconian regulatory measures surrounding purchasing of liquid nicotine, and to offer transitional support to the adult smoking public.
Our Mission is to Bring Change!
We believe that every smoker has a right to access safer than smoking options when every other quit attempt has failed.
